Coulee Upcycling, LLC is a small family owned business. Simply put, we design and build products for you to use and reuse. We find discarded objects or materials that people are going to throw away. With a little creativity and craftsmanship, we add value to the item and transform it into a high quality product.
What is Upcycling?
Upcycling is to reuse (discarded objects or material) in such a way as to create a product of a higher quality or value than the original.
Why don’t I just buy a new product?
Well you can…and many people choose to do that. However, every time we take discarded material and regenerate it into a quality usable product our planet and the environment gets a win.
Isn't this the same as recycling?
Not really. Recycling is converting (waste) into reusable material. For example, when you recycle a plastic bottle it goes through a process that cleans it and eventually chops it into something called Repreve Chips that can be melted and made into other plastic products. These chips are a material not a finished product. Upcycling gives you a finished product. Regardless, recycling is great and we should all do more of it.
How much trash do we have?
A lot...according to National Geographic, Americans generate over 251 million tons of trash. Only 33 percent gets recycled, the rest is in landfills or incinerated. In choosing to Upcycle, you are choosing to make a difference in our environment. So instead of throwing away that old sink, ladder or packing crate ask us to make an outdoor bar, wall shelf or padded reading chair out of them.
